Beginning March 1, 2013 the SHA will not accept applications for 2 and 3 bedrooms. We will continue to accept applications for all other bedroom sizes.

Our mission is to provide safe, affordable housing in good repair to low and moderate income families while encouraging self-sufficiency and promoting economic opportunities for residents.

The Salisbury Housing Authority provides safe and decent rental housing for eligible low-income individuals/families. SHA is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor of Salisbury. SHA currently manages 545 apartments that are scattered throughout the city.

We currently do not administer Section 8 vouchers that provide rental assistance to individuals/families. Locally, Section 8 vouchers may be available from Rowan County Housing Authority (704-633-8380) and East Spencer Housing Authority (704-637-2284).
